Cultural life thrives in the Coast of Bays region. To visit here is to feel a part of its history in the making. While the people of the region make ready to enter into a new era, they never forget the importance of the past and those that have gone before. This is reflected in our strong culture, ranging from music and crafts to festivals that celebrate both our past and present.

Music plays an important role in the Coast of Bays. The area has many talented artists and musicians and the region is home to a state of the art musical recording studio that is on par with any in the world. Crafts, too, play an important role in the Coast of Bays region. Many crafts are produced here including clothing and knitted goods; baskets; paintings; bone, stone, and granite craving; and local folk art. In total, there are nine craft stores in the region; four of these sell internationally. There are also three local carvers and all sell nationally and internationally.
