On Saturday he was given a tour of the town including a visit to Deadman's Cove. In the afternoon he was accompanied by Baxter House, the Coast of Bays Tourism Coordinator, to the Fortune Bay North area where he toured the towns from Pool's Cove to Wreck Cove. While in Belleoram, Messieur Thuau visited the scallop hatchery, Cluett House and the municipal centre. In the evening he drove to Conne River and stayed for the night in Bay D'Espoir. Tracey Perry, the Executive Director of the Coast of Bays Corporation joined him for dinner and discussed possible business relationships between businesses in the Coast of Bays region and on the island of Saint-Pierre et Miquelon.
On Sunday, Messieur Thuau was given a tour of the Bay D'Espoir area including aquaculture sites, the hydroelectric generating station and the salmon hatchery. From here, the Prefect travelled to Hermitage and Seal Cove before returning to Harbour Breton in the evening. On his return to Harbour Breton, Messieur Thuau was given a tour of the ConAqua mussel farms located in Jerseyman's Harbour. Before leaving for the Burin Peninsula, he met with Mr. Don Stewart, Chairperson of the Coast of Bays Corporation, to discuss his travels through the region. The Coast of Bays Corporation will be following up on some initiatives over the coming months with the business community in Saint-Pierre et Miquelon.
