On Wednesday, October 7, the Coast of Bays Corporation held the first ever Information Technology Show in the region.

The show was held at Greenwood Academy in Milltown and featured a number of display booths by government agencies, educational institutions, private businesses and industry. Concurrent with the show were a series of workshops dealing with topics including planning and financing an IT business, information sourcing, purchasing a computer and using the Internet as a communications medium.

The show was attended by over 200 people from around the region; some even traveling by longliner from the remote community of McCallum - a four hour boat ride just to get here. Many were impressed with the increasing opportunities in the IT industry right here in the province.
