On Friday, October 30, the Hon. Oliver Langdon, MHA and Minister of the Department of Environment and Labour, and the Hon. Kevin Aylward, Minister of the Department of Forest Resources and Agrifoods, along with officials of his department were at the Regional Resource Centre in St. Alban's.

The meeting, chaired by Mr. Don Stewart, Chairperson of the Coast of Bays Corporation, was attended by approximately fifty people from development agencies and others involved in various aspects of forestry and agriculture from around the region.

A number of topics were discussed with the Ministers including cranberry production, exportation of new crops i.e. genseng, access to timber stands, research and development activities, Christmas tree farming, wreath making and possible joint ventures with mainland companies.
