The Coast of Bays Corporation held its Annual General Meeting
on Tuesday, May 30, at the Harbour Breton Lions Club with approximately fifty people in
attendance including Ms. Gail Moore of the Department of Development and Rural Renewal and
Mr. Bruce Moore of Human Resource Development Canada. Mr. Don Stewart, Chairman, opened
the meeting by welcoming everyone to the AGM and thanking the Board of Directors and staff
for their commitment to economic development in the Coast of Bays region over the past
year. He then gave a detailed listing of the initiatives of the Coast of Bays Corporation.
Tracey Perry, Executive Director, gave a presentation of the workplan and staffing
requirements for the coming year. |
| This was followed by the treasurer,
Mr. Gordon Kearley, tabling the financial report for the year and circulating printed
copies to the meeting. The Chair of the meeting was then handed over to Mr. John Vallis
to conduct the election process for the Executive of the Board of Directors for the coming
year. The result of this process is as follows: Don Stewart - Chair, Stewart May -
Vice-Chair, Clarence Kelly - Secretary and Bridget Kelly - Treasurer. Other new
members of the Board include Mr. George Loveless representing the business community of
Bay D'Espoir and Mr. Eric Andrews representing the municipalities of the Fortune Bay North
Shore area. |
