Our people have a sense of belonging and of pride in their ancestors' achievements that is celebrated in our unique rural culture. Native traditions are also celebrated on the only Micmac reservation in Newfoundland and Labrador

To visit this region is to feel a part of its history and of histroy in the making. While our people make ready to enter a new era, they never forget the importance of the past and those that have gone before. This is reflected in our strong cultural industries, ranging from music and crafts to festivals and museums that celebrate both our past and our present.

Music plays an important role in the Coast of Bays. The area has many talented artists and musicians, and is home to a state of the art musical recording studio on par with any in the world.

Many crafts are produced here including: clothing and knitted goods; baskets; paintings; bone, stone and granite carvings; and local folk art. The themes of our rich folk history of schooners and seafarers are woven throughout these crafts.

For the investor, the diversity of cultural industries provides opportunities for profitable enterprises.
