How To Get Here

When traveling in the central region of the province, take time to explore the Coast of Bays, nestled on the south coast of the province.

On entering the region, take time to visit the Coast of Bays Arts & Exploration Centre, located at the intersection of Routes 360 - 361, to learn of our early travelers - why they came, where they traveled and how they made a living from the land and the sea.

Our informed staff will assist you with your exploration plans of the region ensuring that you have all the necessary tools in your 'packsack' - listing of festivals and other events, driving times, points of interest, ferry schedules, accommodations listing and amenities - for a safe and enjoyable journey.

During your visit to the Coast of Bays you will experience a naturally vibrant and visually spectacular haven for individuals and families seeking relaxation, culture, or adventure in a natural setting. Explore the multitudes of small bays, inlets and coves that make up the rugged coastline of the Coast of Bays.

Attend the many festivals and events throughout the summer that showcase our local musical and cultural talents. Add an exuberant multicultural history embellished with tales of weathered schooner men, French settlers, and a native Mi'kmaq nation, and you can explore forever.

For the more adventurous- hike, canoe, or kayak into the Bay du Nord wilderness reserve where the pristine environment will leave you in awe of it's breathtaking beauty. Test your skills against Mother Nature on the Bay du Nord Heritage River.  There are many scheduled rivers in this area and brooks in the region where both novice and seasoned anglers can experience the thrill of catching an Atlantic salmon or trout.
