| Description: John Cluett Heritage House was restored in 1993 and dates back to 1844. It is the oldest standing structure in Fortune Bay. The house is best described as being a "Saltbox." This is one of the simplest forms of architecture and was common among early settlers. Items in the house also date back to 1844. | ||

| Description: A large Queen Anne style house built in 1907 by a local merchant containing rooms of various local community themes, including the colourful history of Newman & Co, fishing, resettlement, and displays of the Rose and Stewart families that occupied the house until 1996. Also, there are craft items and tourism information available. The staff dress in period costume. | ||

| Description: The Piercey Heritage Home, oldest home
in the former community of Milltown, has been restored to a time
indicative of the early years in Bay d’Espoir. It is set in a
homestead environment with an outbuilding and future heritage garden area.
It offers a spectacular view of the bay and an outdoor seating area where
one can picnic or just “take a spell”. The architectural style of this
house is a four square or “biscuit box”. |
