Connaigre Bay

Drive the Connaigre Peninsula

As the traveler nears the Route 362 Junction the scenery transforms into another beautiful landscape with a view of the head of Hermitage Bay. Continuing along the Coast of Bays Passage (Route 360) the traveler experiences drastic changes in elevation as they drive aside the fjords that make up Hermitage and Connaigre Bays. Harbour Breton, the largest community in the Coast of Bays Region is at the end of Route 360. A community surrounded by high hills, one has trouble determining where the harbour empties into the ocConnaigre Bayean. While in Harbour Breton one can visit the Sunny Cottage Heritage Centre, Deadman's Cove, hike to Gun Hill, or stroll around Mile Pond. Harbour Breton is home to the Red Head Rocks concert which is held in early August.  Hermitage is home to the Rum Runner's Racket, a festival of fun, music and dancing held in the month of August.
